Synopsis
BEAUMONT 23 EL PASO 857 When Casey Cannon sees that tall green Texas road sign, he takes it as a challenge and sets out on foot to traverse the giant state from border to border. Casey walks to block out the pain of dicovering his mother's affair and to find a way to tell his brother the truth. Dustin Cannon can only drop his head and follow: his younger brother needs looking out for. Casey (Jono Young) embodies the spitfire image of the original Texan frontier settlers. Rash, raw, and reckless, he makes the ladies love him despite knowing better and never backs down from a fight, even one he’s sure to lose. Whereas Casey shoots from the hip, Dustin (Zach Freeman) is nothing but a straight-shooter. The brothers travel from the flatlands and marshes of the East through the Hill Country to the desolate plateaus and desert of the West, taking on every bull ride, barbecue, and barfight along the way. Shot along the highways and back roads of the Lone Star State as well as at Gruene Hall, one of Texas's most storied dancehalls, Coyote Funeral makes Texas as much a character as a setting. Whether or not Casey and Dustin make it to El Paso will depend less on braving the elements than surviving each other.

Coyote Funeral Trailer
In a walk across Texas, the greatest distance is between two brothers. When Casey Cannon sees the Texas road sign that proclaims 857 miles to El Paso, he takes it as a challenge to traverse the giant state on foot. His brother Dustin can only follow to protect him. Whether or not they make it will depend less on braving the elements than surviving each other.

Watched the DVD last night. Great looking film. Good music, good story line, lots of great parts and "quotable" lines. Won't be the last time I watch this one.

Jason and Phelps,
Congrats on the completion of "Coyote Funeral" and its continued success. As I mentioned to Phelps while working with him this past summer in Idaho, it was a pleasure to have contributed to this unique and exceptional debut feature effort. Congrats also on getting the DVD out. Any Special Features included? "Coyote Funeral" is one of the very best indie features I have worked on to date. I sincerely look forward to working with you both again.

Jason-
well done, congrats on the movie and the website!
one question, how did you get dudley into the movie while he was simultaneously engaging in covert anti-terrorist operations in Lebanon? that guy is everywhere.
