Synopsis

On September 30, 2006, Patty Eacobacci, made her first real attempt to prove that the Universe is friendly. Proof is a poignant story photo documenting her spiritual battle between mind and spirit. A concept she is not sure how to define and yet is determined to fight. She finds the proof she needs on a day long journey to the Sierra Buttes, located in the Sierra Nevada mountains of Northern California. She departed, camera in hand, ready and watching for signs. She kept looking, looking, looking for the shot, the gift, the miracle. She arrived at the end of her day resigned to not having anything clear. But in looking again, she is pleasantly shocked to see the Universe had indeed responded.

I made it. I didn't die. This last weekend, what a fantastic experience all the way around. Shear terror and pure delight. I was exhausted and am so appreciative of all of your support. The folks at SYRCL and all the volunteers were really fantastic and accommodating. In talking with other filmmakers, the treatment we receive is really unusual. I guess now I am spoiled. Bear and I befriended two new guys (their first film and festival) on Friday. Their film, Arid Lands, ended up winning the People's Choice Award. It was so fun to be with them and to experience their standing ovation at the end of their screening. I am sure you will see this someday soon on the likes of PBS. To see the relief in Grant's face when it was over was a connection I totally related with. Grant was the editor of the film.

Here's their site:

Take care and thank you all,
Patty

Today is the world premiere of "Proof". In my hometown. I am honored, excited, nervous and full of fear. What will they think? Breathe and be a part of the days events. Visit with other filmmakers and know you are not alone with your hopes, joys and overwhelming desire to make a connection with others. Remember always these words of wisdom:

"How shall I help the world?"
"By understanding it", said the Master
"And how shall I understand it?"
"By turning away from it."
"How then shall I serve humanity?"
"By understanding yourself."
Anthony De Mello, SJ
