Synopsis
It’s 1964 and even small town Indiana is feeling the tension of the Civil Rights Movement. Teenagers Rosalie, black, and Jesse, white, are in love. Their dream is to get out of their small town and live a better life. They take extreme measures to make sure their relationship remains a secret. When Jesse’s father discovers them, it sets off a chain of events that rips their plans apart and ultimately forces Rosalie to make the hardest decision of her life. Which will she follow? – her heart or her head? A CHANGE IS GONNA COME is a moving portrait of young love and the difficult journey we all must take to adulthood.

It was a great week for Change all around as it was also named an official selection of the Martha's Vineyard African-American Film Festival! The festival takes place August 10-13, 2006.
After Waterfront it's a quick trip back to LA for the Hollywood Black Film Festival (www.hbff.org) which starts June 13th. I'm very excited about this one as well. It's one of the premiere fests for African American filmmakers and I get two all access passes to all the seminars and screenings. My film will be playing as part of the Student Shorts #2 screening. Saturday, June 17th at 5pm at the Harmony Gold Preview House. This a GREAT venue, really top of the line.
If you're at either fest, please come up and say hello!
