Synopsis

Sometimes long forgotten rememberances return to life because they are uncompleted and not brought to an end. Fail to engage them and they grow stronger and stronger. Soon they will overshadow your life and destroy everything you are. For Lukas this shadow is his own father... After the seperation from Nora Lukas life seems empty and absurd. Since some time a little boy shows up in Lukas home, silently weeping and imploring his aid. Who is this little boy who suddenly intrudes into Lukas life? Lukas thinks he´s losing his mind... But one day the little boy begins to speak and guides Lukas to the 'home', a mysterious place inside Lukas mind. It is here where the boy watches over all of Lukas rememberances, the good ones and the bad. Each remeberance is carefully enclosed in a preserving jar. Lukas freezes with pain as the boy shows him one dreadful moment from the past. His deceased father ist still her, somewhere in a dark cellar deep under the ground. A repressed past breaks up, filling Lukas with grief. He has to enter the cellar, face his father and again child´s confidence. Learning the past ist the only way to save his love.

This is an excellent example of a director's ability to capture a story, characters, emotion and screen value within the context of a short. The film is chilling, tender and smart. It is an excellent cadidate for the winning film in any festival.
