In the dead still of night, Alice, a Veronica Lake-type damsel in distress, enters an abandoned building for a secret rendez-vous with her lover, Peter, a defiant romantic who is the heir of a fortune and has a family who wants him to marry Vassar socialites of equal standing. Despearate to escape, he finally convinces Alice to run away with him, despite her fears of retaliation from her abusive husband Richard, a working-class brute. However, all hell breaks loose when Richard appears and uncovers their plans. As Alice and Peter desperately try to escape, a sinister scheme slowly unfolds that prove in film noir nothing is ever as it seems... This ten-and-a-half-minute, black and white 16mm short is written, directed and produced by Marianne Hansen, a Chinese-Danish, London-educated and LA-based up and coming filmmaker.
