Synopsis

Why do we fight? Are we able to live past our experiences? 'Anamnesis' explores two boxers' traumatic childhood's as they fight each other in the ring. A curious dissection into the psychology of boxing as well as a metaphor for cognitive behavioural theory, 'Anamnesis' asks unflinching questions about who, why, and how we are, and explores how traumatic experiences shape us, and motivate our actions in the present. Who will win this physical and cognitive battle? 'Anamnesis' represents the human conundrum-the impossible question- one we have to answer for ourselves

What does Pearl Jam, Fall Out Boy and Neutral Density FIlms have in common? The answer is all three groups will be part of the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds Festivals 2006. Mainly known for its great atmosphere and pumping music the Carling Weekend does indeed have a film component and Anamnesis has been invited to screen.

Hi Everyone!

We just got another press quote. The quote is in reference to Edmonton's NextFest which happened earlier this month

"Anamnesis is the best of the bunch for sheer drama and craft. . . the strength of the film is in its crisp editing and well-choreographed boxing scenes. These young filmmakers show promise."
- Bill Rankin, Cultural Editor, Edmonton Journal, June 2, 2006

Although June is traditionally a slow month for festival notifications we are pleased to announce that Anamnesis has been accepted to two Canadian film festivals bringing our festival run to 28 and counting. Nextfest in Edmonton screened Anamnesis on June 2nd at 9pm (I know it already happened but I was out of the country so couldn't make updates).

In addition Anamnesis will screen this Wednesday June 7th at the Drake Hotel as part of the Curiosity Festival at 6pm. Anamnesis has been chosen as one of the top 5 films at the Curiosity Festival and is in contention for the Pandora Award. Also as part of the Curiosity Festival from June 19th to June 9th Anamnesis will be made available online for the public to download and view. Viewers will be able to vote for their favourite film so we hope that our fans will continue to support us. Hopefully this voting system will be slightly easier than last time.
