Film Description:
Synopsis
On his seven-year birthday, Pierrot gets his first camera from his step father. For nine years, he makes a 'home movie' based upon his childhood. Through the eye of his little camera, and at three peculiar intense moments, we meet his abusive and violent alchoholic mother, his pedophiliac step father as well as people around him who try to get Pierrot out of this insane situation. A fiction based upon North America's social problem, shot just like if it would be a real documentary. Just imagine yourself looking at your younger cousin's Hi8 tapes as you discover the whole truth. Houw would you react?

You can see a French version with no English subtitles on : www.shamanemedias.com/films/ball.html. It has a Quebec accent so you have to be very good in French to understand. If you want an English version, just let me know! The movie is free to send and download, just as long as it helps in the community.

"Ball and Chain" is a dogma-style docu-drama about abused children in Canada. It has been shot just as if the camera was child's eyes for more than 10 years but we show only three or four crucial moments of his life. It is shown in French language with English subtitles
