Synopsis
We live in a world that advances and survives because of set rules and regulations. Without these guidelines, humanity would wind up in chaos with no hope for survival. Unfortuantely, there are those that won't fall into line, the ones that shake the bird's cage just to see what will happen. Dark Fantasy takes a look into the life of one of these nonconformists. Art has been pushed to the limits of his reality and in a glorious destructive rage, decides to push back. Tired of being stepped on with nothing to show for it, he strips away his white collar. For years, Art has been trapped in a boring dead-end existence. Now he is free to turn his world upside down one moment at a time. A life of mystery, lust, love, excitement and suspense becomes more of a reality than he had ever dreamed. Dark Fantasy is a puzzle. Every scene has a clue. Can you figure out the missing pieces before they come together at the end?

It's hard to see a good movie today. We are dumbed down and excited by bright, flashy things. In a perfect world movies would be a source of stimulation for the thinkers of the world, the ones that like having their mind blown by an overall cinema experience. Thankfully for us, we live in a world with Ian Keeney. The director of "Dark Fantasy" knows what people like to see in a movie and delievers it with a passion rarely seen in this world. Don't know what you want to do with your life? Feel a little outside of the box? Meet Art. Art is a man not unlike any one of us. Well, maybe a little different. You see, Art is wrestling with his emotions in a world he was not made for. That's about all I can tell you about the plot. The angles, lighting and dialoge are all on point and many of these actors jump right off the screen. If Ian keeps up the pace he set with "Dark Fantasy", we're all in for mental explosion real soon. Ian, if you read this, kudos. You are a brillant mind and I will be

As an actor in "Dark Fantasy," please realize that I may have an unconcious bias for the film. That said, I think that it is a truly admirable piece of work, although not without some flaws. The story line is very good, and I think the themes Ian J. Keeney wanted to get across were all driven home in an exciting blend of vision and artistry. As I see it, the central theme is, "What is the nature of reality?" That theme is well realized. The main character, Art, is played by Christoph A. Nowaczyk, who does a good job portraying a young man living on a mental razor's edge. Mr. Nowaczyk is a young Goth who has tried to join the straight world, but who finds that world too stultifying to buy into. Are the people he meets over and over in very different situations all really part of a conspiracy to bring out the worst in him, or is his mind slowly deteriorating? Director Keeney handles the horrific plot revelations with good taste and aplomb, using interesting camera angles and shot selecti
