The children of the Echoboom (born between 1982 and 1995) were raised on the internet with high expectations, but a life of achievement has them apathetic and jaded. Suddenly, these kids are about to graduate college... Jonah and his roommates are dealing with the quarterlife crisis. Pressured into law by his parents and apathetic to the constructs of such a world, Jonah spends his final few months of college chasing Casey, the girl that got away. Set against the 2004 elections, roommates Matty (democrat) and Evan (republican) begin losing their friendship as their viewpoints begin to solidify after Matty discovers Evan is a lovechild. Finally, there is the stoner pilgrimmage of Goody and Goldberg, two young men that the world has passed by. This is their tale of a fateful trip to San Francisco to see Phish play. Echoboom is the interweaving for these characters in an existential comedy that will draw you back to your college experience. A film about beer and uncertainty, love and that awkward space between college and life. Shot on location in Los Angeles and San Francisco, the Echoboom is the second feature by Justin Krook and Zack Jerome, who met in film school at the University of Southern California. This film is in many ways a first hand look at what college is for the echoboomers and how they view their future and their past.
