The largest short film festival in the world, LA Shorts Fest is also Academy Award Accredited, with winners for Best of the Fest, Best Foreign, Best Drama, Best Comedy, Best Documentary, and Best Animation eligible for Academy Award nominations. RIIFF has been cited as one of the Top Ten Short Film Festivals and Top Ten International Film Festivals in the United States. Furthermore, RIIFF is a qualifying festival for the Short Films category of the Academy Awards, and is the only film festival in the US to have an affiliation with the Grammy Awards. The Rhode Island International Film Festival will screen approximately 225 films including features and shorts which were selected from more than 2,000 submissions world-wide.

The North American premiere screening of eleVATE will be held during the Rhode Island International Film Festival at the Columbus Theatre Cinematheque, Thursday August 10 @ 1pm. Tickets can be puchased from the RIIFF office by calling 401.861.4445 or from the Columbus Theatre.
