Film Description:
Synopsis
Joshua Wilkinson, (27), the filmmaker and the youngest father of the four generations, has grown up between two extremes: his parents' and grandparents' great achievements in civil liberties and political activism, and the complementary hypocrisy behind their personal family history. Grandfather Frank Wilkinson, (91), was imprisoned for a year by the House of Un-American Activities Committee for refusing to answer their questions during the McCarthy Era. While he became a larger-than-life hero to those fighting for civil and First Amendment rights, he 'failed miserably' as a father, according to his son Jeffry. Jeffry (62), in turn, is confronted by his son Joshua for physically abusing Joshua's mother, despite a background as an activist for peace and social justice. Finally, the filmmaker is confronted by his own son, Benji (age 6), who simply wants Joshua to put down the camera and be a daddy.
