Film Summary

A young, pregnant woman, Anais is being held captive in a specialized hospital where her husband, Peter has a medical internship with his brilliant uncle. Peter's uncle, Dr. Gabriel Schreklich has secretly invented a serum that can bring the dead partially back to life putting them in a state of Leben-Tod, or life-death, where they are almost completely alive, almost. But he must perfect the formula; and for every successful experiment there are many 'failed' ones. One of the failures is the doctor's own wife and daughter, who died tragically one year earlier. The doctor keeps them hidden in a secret room and brings them living tissue to consume until he can cure them completely. Even in the face of such macabre acts, Peter insists that Anais must stay in her uncle's hospital for her own good. But Anais is afraid that the doctor intends on using her baby in his experiments. Then things go terribly wrong and before the doctor can cure them, his wife and daughter escape from their room. Soon other half dead patients join them, escaping from their basement prison and taking over the hospital. Even Peter and the Doctor are injected and transformed. Now the only way for Anais to save her unborn baby is to get one of the ghouls to help her to escape: and Peter is the perfect ghoul to do so. After a gory get-away Anais flees the hospital and peter burns it down. Only then does Anais realize the truth.

It is kinda' like a smore! Messy and gooie leaves you a little dirty but sinfully delicious!

Love it. It's a blast. Creepy and Crazy. Good ending too. It breathes new perspective into a subject worn thin by rehashed ideas. Watch it.

This is a great alternative look at the age old theme of flesh that never dies
