Synopsis
ROXANNE KILCOOLEY wrestles with fury after the horrific torture/murder of her only daughter. Upon learning of the predator's early release, she catches the monster in the act and administers a life sentence no review board can ever repeal. LAYLA DEVEREAUX - Roxanne's life long best friend, is torn between her badge and Roxanne's plight for justice. When Adrian receives parole and remains in their community, it's her job to see that he is not harrassed. When her own daughter is abducted, Roxanne's persistent stalking pays off and saves the teen. Layla is forced to choose between protecting the friend that saves her daughter and the law. ADRIAN DRAKE, repeat sex offender, bides his time, knowing the state of overcrowded prisons and pressure on the system to free up jail cells. He does his part to exhibit exemplary behavior and receives parole regardless of his life sentence. He makes a good show of rehabilitation. Adrian gives in to compulsion, striking again, and this time Layla's daughter is in peril.

This movie accomplishes A LOT in 12 minutes. It challenges the legal system and puts the viewer into the "what would I do in this situation" mode. Not an easy question to answer.

Life W/O Parole is a film that should be seen world-wide. It is a beautifully crafted film about a horrific subject: the agony and pain inflicted by a predator. The film predicts what might happen when predators are released back into society and the victims fight back with vigilante vengeance. It's not a film for the squeamish. The director explores the failings of our legal system in the case of predators.

Oh Panwitty! So good to see your post. I miss you and your phenomenal laugh out loud attitude.
You are one of the very first people I discussed this concept with 5 years ago. We were teaching preschoolers about Willie Learns the Touching Rule - every year - and it made me SO MAD that we live in a society where we have to teach 3 yr olds about the dangers of perverts.
We talked about scaring the pervert rather than the three year old - remember?
Well here we are and the short version has come to fruition.
Thanks so much! Yipekiyay - cow _____!

I agree with scifrodo. The film stirs up a lot of feeling of "what would yo u do if something like this happened to your child?" Good job Colette. I believe in you.

Amazing, simply amazing concept. It's over top, but that it so very, very necessary to get the severity of this issue across. It is intense and graphic, but that is all spot on for the story. My only concern is the amount of material fit into such a small amount of time. It would fit better in longer film. But over all very well shot, acted, and written. A moving film in a nontraditional since.

LWOP is one of the most powerful statements on our flawed justice system out there. Also very disturbing insight into what happens when the human mind has taken all it can and then some. Great start to a very promising career.

A very intense film about revenge and retribution. Not for the faint but well acted and very high production standards.
