The MARKSMAN went down to Georgia... Jan 12, 2007 07:30AM
For those of you down in the Augusta area, be sure to head over to the Imperial Theatre for the 6pm short film block tonight for the premiere of "Marksman" -- we're with some other excellent shorts, and tickets are only $3-5 for the set! If you do go, please drop me a message and let us know what you thought!

Best to all the Southern Fried folks this week!

Southern Fried Marksman Jan 03, 2007 07:27PM
Sorry for the dearth of updates, but we've been slammed over in Kung Fu Monkey town. I'm very excited to announce that "Marksman" has been invited to its first fest! We are proud to be part of the Southern Fried Flicks Film Festival in Augusta, GA. We will be in the 6pm block with some other great shorts (including some by WABbits, yay!!). If you're in town, check us out! For more info, go to http://imperialtheatre.com/fried.htm
The Mystery of the Envelope has been solved Oct 06, 2006 07:51AM
Yes, the blank envelope was a mistake. The perils of a SASE is that it's begging to be mailed, and this one apparently begged a little early. :) So no panicking at the mailbox until the last week of November now.
The first envelope is back! And it's....empty? Oct 02, 2006 09:29PM
Matt ran down to check the mail this evening and came back with a strange discovery. "This is the SASE we sent in, isn't it?" he asked me, clutching a white envelope with the Kung Fu Monkey sticker on it. One of the festivals we applied to lets you send an envelope for them to return your ballot in if you don't make it into the festival, so you can see the judges' comments. A nice idea, but this seemed rather portentous as we'd only mailed this off a week and a half ago.

That is, until Matt handed it to me. "Feels a little light, doesn't it?" He took it back and put it up to the light. "It's empty!"

Tearing it open like a kid demolishing a carefully wrapped birthday present, I discovered that it was, in fact, empty. A bit sticky from the melted glue, but empty.

We've emailed the festival to find out the meaning of this strange omen. We're hoping it was an accident and not a sign of things to come. Maybe they'll give it a careful look now that they've worried us a bit.

We'll see what happens! Time for dinner and "Studio 60"... Cheers!
Festival Submissions, Ahoy! Sep 26, 2006 10:00AM
The smart thing to do would be to buy stock in padded mailers, amray cases, and verbatim DVDs.

For our early submissions, we've been burning DVDs from the one stop post shop that is my room. There's almost always a copy of the movie being tested on my small TV that's a leftover from college, leaving me humming the pervasive theme music for most of the night. Ed's music is fantastic, but being so, is always caught in my brain. As part of our thank you to him, part of the DVD stack is on its way to Park City Film Music Festival. Hopefully they'll be as swept up in the compositions as I have been -- even if it means I find myself humming it at work while I type.
We're on DVD, and we're officially set up on WAB! Sep 13, 2006 12:46AM
Post production has wrapped, and our spindle of blank DVDs is filling up with copies of Marksman. It means that it's finally time for the post team to start sleeping again, but it also means that it's time to get our Audience page going. As the appointed Festival Czar, I'm looking forward to sharing Marksman with the WAB community as we move from spindle to screen.

So, on behalf of the entire cast and crew of Marksman, welcome to our page. We're just getting started, but promise lots of updates over the weeks to come.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hey P - I think I mentioned it before, but I'll let you know when we have a DVD ready to give out to people. We're going to be putting together a DVD with the movie, trailer, and some special features that we'll get printed, so we'll be able to send you a copy then. Right now we just have our screenrs that are printing off my overworked DVD drive on my computer. The cast and crew are still waiting, too, so be patient, I'll let you know. :) J

I think someone had just updated imdb (if that's where you looked) after the first 5, because everyone had 6 episodes listed when I lookd a few weeks ago. As far as I can tell he'll be on there the whole season. I wish I had a Magic Nate 8-Ball to answer your questions, but I have no idea what his plans are. :D

Well if you do see click let me know where you see him at. I saw the movie 3 times now and I still haven't be able to fine him. Also is Nate going to be in anymore studio 60? I really like that show, I had read he is in only 6 shows that is why I am curious if he is in anymore. I had also seen that he is going to be in the new cbs show 3lbs I wanted to know if you knew anything about that.

Well, first we have to get in before you go filling up the tank with gas -- so cross those appendages! We're sending out screeners now (read: barebones versions of the movie that I'm burning on my overheating DVD drive), but when we put together a full DVD I'll let you know. Not sure what else Nate has lined up outside Studio 60, but we're excited for him!

Thanks a lot for getting back to me! I know I won't be able to make it up to cleveland for the film festival becuase it is like a hour in a half drive, and if it's during the then for sure I won't be able to make it because of my work scedule. I might be albe to come if it's on the weekend please let me know the dates. Also I thought maybe you could mail me a copy of the dvd if that is possilbe once it's relase? And do you know if nate is going to be in any more movies or tv shows in the near feature? I saw him on sunset strip studio 60 and also in click.

Silver Lake: Thanks so much! We've sent a screener your way, so hopefully you'll get to check it out. :)

P Miller: We've submitted to fests all over the country, so hopefully we'll be accepted somewhere near you! If you're still in Ohio, cross your fingers for us for the Cleveland International Film Festival (although I'm sure that's a big drive). I'll be letting everyone know where we're accepted once we start finding out -- hopefully letters/emails start coming in December.

Matt's designing a trailer, and I hope to be able to put up some clips as well. We've just registered our website over the weekend, so now we'll actually have a place to store these things. Keep checking this page for updates. And if you can't make a festival, we'll figure out some way for you to enjoy Nate's antics. :)
