Film Description:
Synopsis
Josh likes to be on time. He likes to save money, and he likes to dominate the small things in this world. Rhett likes to film lizards in the bushes outside his apartment and talk at length about honesty and bad mojo and how they feed off of your energy. Emily's favorite movie is Sleepless in Seattle, and she likes to make sweeping statements about what really is the true essence of marriage. Josh and Emily have been dating for 3 years. Rhett is his younger brother. Josh's life pretty much sucks. He's a failed NYC indie-rocker, and a failing booking agent. But, he finds hope somehow in a really bad idea. He decides to purchase a 1985 Lazy-Boy on Ebay, just like the one his dad had when Josh was a kid. He will drive cross-country, pick it up in his van, and deliver it to his father as a surprise birthday gift. Small victory kind of thing. And, he and Emily will get some much needed alone time on the way. Their relationship is a plant that needs watering kind of thing. But Rhett wants to come along, too. He needs to connect with his Dad like he connects with the lizards in his bushes. Face to face. So he does come along. What happens next has something to do with a big-ass purple Lazy-Boy and what it does to the three passengers on their trip down South.

Ratings
This movie was great, it had funny, sad, and serious moments which made it easier to relate to!
Really loved the story line. The Duplass brothers really have a handle on real relationship dynamics, and I think Kathryn Aselton is destined to be a star.
The movie was GREAT,I loved the plot line. There were many very REAL moments, i could identify with the characters!!
Really lovely romantic comedy--really "got" the universal man/woman communication issues in a fresh and funny way!

I watched the whole under 500K category for voting for the independent spirit awards-- Puffy Chair was excellent-- much better than the eventual winner. I would have put the film at the top of the category, but then I saw Brick. :) Congratulations on breaking new ground in cinema!

I am sure this is just me not looking properly, but according to the theater's site, the Puffy Chair is not showing in DC this weekend at the Landmark E Street Cinema.
Does anyone know if this is playing and when?

The film seems nice, but theres one thing that I cannot stand. I understand that some supporters of the film may dismiss me even before reading the entire post, but please just try to understand.
The post-a-sticker project you're doing is absolutely retarded. Riding the "culture jamming" and "Obey" train, yet redirecting its purpose to advertise for a movie. Especially for a movie which appears to have no heavy intellectual or polemical substance. Redirecting anti-advertising and resistant "graffiti" into another advertisement (and I do know what the Obey project was started for). Viral marketing at its worst
I completely understand that advertising an independent movie can be difficult, but please, PLEASE be more responsible with your methods. I could write an entire page explaining the negative effects this can cause (everything large consists of smaller pieces). And after all, I would have thought ebay would have paid you enough to handle the advertising.
