You touch a real nerve with me with your film topic. My Dad was an Airforce pilot in WWII and he never talked about his experience unless it was about one of his buddies (the real heroes, he said) who died.

Had the pleasure of seeing this short before "In the Shadow of the Moon" at Sundance, and was hoping to meet Mr. Lorton. Alas, I was sidetracked after the feature by astronaut Col. Dave Scott, who like Buzz Aldrin, loved the short also. Curious as to availability of the short after it completes its film festival tour. Would love to buy/screen for family and friends. The audience at Sundance cheered afterwards. Exhilerating. Well done!

I just saw this at the Melbourne International Film Festival (2006) in the Documentary Shorts program, and I really enjoyed it.
It was great to see the World War II pilot interviewed, and see as he watches the old footage for the first time. A great old guy.
