Cleveland! Feb 06, 2007 04:55AM
I'm happy to announce that The Cell-Phone will screen at the Cleveland International Film Festival this March. Woot! More details as they become available.
Featured Film?!?!? Jan 01, 2007 04:06PM
I just noticed that TCP is listed as one of the "Featured Films" to your right. Thanks, Withoutabox!
NYC Shorts Festival Oct 17, 2006 01:56PM
The Cell-Phone will appear as part of a "kid-friendly" block, at 12 noon on Saturday November 11. For more information, visit NYC Shorts.

(Side note: this is the second time I've shared a program with "Fumi and the Bad Luck Foot." Illustrious company.)
Connecticut Filmmaker Award! Oct 08, 2006 06:42PM
I'm pleased, and surprised, to announce that "The Cell-Phone" won the Connecticut Filmmaker award at the CTFF today. This is surprising mostly because I haven't lived in Connecticut since 1990.

I suppose one could argue that my "formative years" were spent there, though.

Whatever. I'll take it!

Report from the road Oct 07, 2006 11:43AM
I'm sitting in a café in New Milford, Connecticut, waiting nervously for my screening to roll around. I arrived much earlier than I expected--2 P.M., two full hours early. The Bank Street Cinema is showing, in addition to the festival, such luminous films as Jackass Number Two.

Oddly enough, the people at the table immediately adjacent to me are talking about an annoying cell-phone driver. It's all I can do to not turn around and say, "Someone should make a movie about that."

Another article... Oct 02, 2006 06:17PM
A brief mention from a local paper in Connecticut (scroll down halfway).
Acceptance! Article! Aaaargh! Oct 02, 2006 01:52PM
The Cell-Phone will be a part of the second annual NYC Shorts Festival in a little town called Manhattan.

This is only the second time I've screened a film in New York. The first time, with ESC, I didn't find out about the screening until the day after it happened (nice going, Animation Block Party). I hope to make it up to be there.

Also, enjoy this brief Q & A about the coming screening in Connecticut, from New England Film.

Unforeseen Circumstances Oct 02, 2006 01:28PM
Garr! The CTFF web page was incorrect when I first read it. The Saturday showing is in New Milford, not Norwalk. I'll still be there, though.
Meet me in Norwalk, Norton Sep 28, 2006 07:32AM
Barring unforeseen circumstances, I'll be at the Norwalk, CT showing, October 7 at 4 P.M. I hope to see you there.
Come to Connecticut and be rude on yer phone Sep 20, 2006 10:23AM
Well, The Cell-Phone will show at the first annual Connecticut Film Festival on Saturday, October 7. Two showings, at 10:30 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. I hate matinees.

The CTFF is based in my hometown of Westport, but of course I'm not showing at any of the venues there. That would be too easy. Ah well, I'd probably just be depressed at all the differences anyway. For one thing, my middle school is now an elementary school, and its name has been changed! Ah, the hardships I must endure!

Anyway, come see. I don't know where I'll be yet. I need to get out of a commitment on Saturday. In any case I can pretty much guarantee I won't be at the 10:30 showing.

I've got two interviews coming up--one for a local CT paper, and one for New England Film--and I'll post linkies as they become available.

Linky to Washington City Paper, as promised! Sep 14, 2006 04:27AM
Enjoy this Q & A for the Washington City paper's City Desk blog, all about tonight's premiere of The Cell-Phone.
Gulp! Sep 13, 2006 06:28PM
Well, tomorrow is the Big Premiere. Apparently there will be a Q&A posted in the Washington City Paper's festival blog--linky to come.
World Premiere! Aug 06, 2006 07:59AM
The Cell-Phone will have its world premiere at the D.C. Shorts Festival on Sept. 14, 2006. If you're in the D.C. area, please come on by!
