Film Description:
Synopsis
Alexis Daniels, a beautiful Afro-American game show hostess struggling with the inner demon of 'how' she landed the role, flees Hollywood and wanders into a rundown diner for a cup of coffee... Here she encounters Nelly Munro, an aging Hollywood starlet turned hostess, who's struggling with a few demons of her own; namely an abusive husband. Surprising, given Nelly's own gruff demeanor. But Alexis detects the loneliness in Nelly's eyes, and soon the conversation between them flows as freely as the liquor. Alexis is everything Nelly wanted to be: a star! But with stardom comes a price. Alexis reveals to Nelly how she became a surrogate mother for the show's producer in exchange for the role, knowing that all ties between her and her child would be severed. Nelly is seemingly envious of her for not only being a working actress, but also for being able to bear children when she suffered two miscarriages. Slowly, Alexis begins to see a dark image of herself in Nelly of what her own future may hold. But there's an even darker side to Nelly that nobody knows about... A secret so complex that it changes both women's lives forever.
