Kirk Jackson worked with numerous production companies in New York before returning to Texas to begin his own. Going Home Pictures, currently a one-man outfit located in Los Angeles, focuses on documentaries of human interest and social awareness. Between New York, Houston, and L.A. Kirk has over 10 collective years of experience in film and video production. His debut documentary short MONTERO, BOLIVA was responsible for raising thousands of dollars in medical relief for the indigent population of central Bolivia. As producer, director, director of photography and editor, JUNGLE REMEDY is his first documentary feature.

Film Production Blog "jungleremedy"

Jungle Remedy update Mar 06, 2007 09:06AM

Jungle Remedy has entered into a co-production agreement with MoxieDocs of NYC-based Moxie Films. It has been selected as one of seven documentary works-in-progress to be pitched at the Media Market for NALIP's (Nat'l Assoc. of Latino Independent Producers) Annual Conference in Newport Beach, CA this weekend. Meanwhile the organization of the independent medical study continues. Medical professionals as far away as Hamburg, Germany are playing a key part. Jungle Remedy is in production and anticipates to resume filming in the early summer of '07.

The trailer for jungle remedy is available at our website www.jungleremedy.com. First of all, Jungle Remedy has just been selected as an official entry to the 3rd Annual Newburyport Documentary Film Festival. Having recently started submissions, this is my first official selection. Jungle Remedy, like all of our films, is a labor of love. It is not a film that I can ever say is 100% finished, as it is an ongoing effort to raise awareness for this herbal treatment for HIV/AIDS. Thus, I will venture to Toronto in mid August to attend the Int'l AIDS Society's Global Conference as a member of the media. I plan to attend numerous symposia and conduct some interviews with medical experts in the field. Depending upon these findings, I may implement them into a new edit of the documentary. But at the very least, I hope to garner attention for the film and participation from indpendent medical professionals. Get the word out - that is always key.
