Crooked Mick of the Speewah pick up Angelus Award!!! Oct 18, 2006 10:49PM
Short film Crooked Mick of the Speewah is to be awarded an Angelus Student Film Festival Award for Most Outstanding Animation. Crooked Mick had a year in post production, with the entirety of it's environment being computer generated. A number of animals in the film are also computer generated including sheep on stilts, a cow, giant Kangaroos and a backward flying crow. The prize is for $2,000.00 covering the considerable expense of entering festivals and shipping materials. Angelus has been a terrific experience - and is recommended for any student filmmakers as a wonderful competition to consider.

CrookedMick hits the Film Circuit!       May 24, 2006 04:22AM
G'day there!
You've stumbled across the Withoutabox blog for 'Crooked Mick of the Speewah' a short film about a mythical place where everything is a little bit weird, wacky and unreal!

The film is about two sideshow blokes who take off looking for a fellow who lives out past Woop-Woop, who goes by the name of Crooked Mick. He is known as the biggest and the best at pretty much everything. Which is why they intend to challenge him and prove themselves. But don't take my word for it, have a look at the website at;
