eleVATE has been officially selected for the 10th Annual Los Angeles International Short Film Festival (LA Shorts Fest) which runs September 5-14 2006.
The largest short film festival in the world, LA Shorts Fest is also Academy Award Accredited, with winners for Best of the Fest, Best Foreign, Best Drama, Best Comedy, Best Documentary, and Best Animation eligible for Academy Award nominations. In past years, the Fest has produced 23 Oscar nominees and 7 Oscar winners.
This is the second Academy Award Accredited festival in a row that eleVATE has been selected for following on from RIIFF!

The North American premiere of the Australian short film eleVATE, will be held at the Tenth Annual Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) which runs August 8th-13th 2006.
RIIFF has been cited as one of the Top Ten Short Film Festivals and Top Ten International Film Festivals in the United States. Furthermore, RIIFF is a qualifying festival for the Short Films category of the Academy Awards, and is the only film festival in the US to have an affiliation with the Grammy Awards. The Rhode Island International Film Festival will screen approximately 225 films including features and shorts which were selected from more than 2,000 submissions world-wide.

The world premiere of eleVATE will be held from the 6-8 July at the "Cosi Fan Tutte" Vienna Short Film Festival in Austria. The most innovative entries from around the world by filmmakers under 35 will screen at the festival which celebrates the themes: love and intrigue.
The short film festival is being held on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Mozart, in the world's music capital, within the framework of the Vienna Mozart Year 2006.

I saw the trailer on Myspace. It creates a good intrigue. I'd definately like to see the film! I hope I'll get the opportunity soon at one of the many festivals where it is showing.
