I'm the owner of www.gofilmfest.com another website that aims to assist independent filmmakers and film festivals. One of the ways we target helping filmmakers and film festivals is via encouraging Film Festivals being considered as a travel option by film lovers and others. Gofilmfest offers film festival packages and information about film festivals to help you to plan a trip so you can watch the best in independent films and possibly meet some of the top up and coming filmmakers! I'm a huge fan of independent film and believe that it plays a critical role in being a forum for independent voices and issues that are not being given enough audience via television and other media. Stories are being told that without film festivals we wouldn't hear much about. Support local film festivals...Support independent Filmmakers!

Gofilmfest.com is my web site which I've developed to support independent Film through encouraging Film Festivals as the main activity or a part of someone's travel plans. GoFilmFest.com offers great information to help plan your trip and even the ability to plan and book this online. When you make a film festival a part of your travel trip...you are helping the film festival: a) be a sustainable entity b) because if a festival can show it has attracted people outside the community this demonstrates they've contributed to a communities economic development. c) This in turn helps the festival in attracting additional sponsorships and grants...ie...money d) ...and with usually ticket and pass sales representing at best 30% of a film festivals budget...sponsorship and grant money is critical to a film festivals sustainability year after year. Film Festival's bring divergent voices to communities and cover unique world and issue stories that are not covered well via conventional media. I believe we need this critical information and should: a) encourage friends, family and acquantances to attend film festivals b) attend more film festivals ourselves to connect with these important happenings in the world and ... c) support independent filmmakers in other ways including donating to film festivals, being an investor in independent films themselves, buying filmmakers DVD's and through a miriad of other supporting behaviors... Last...GoFilmFest.com see's the need to provide other services and help to Independent Filmmakers and Film Festivals and will in the future be adding services on our website www.gofilmfest.com to help these efforts! We're curious as to what information you as a film festival attendee value...Please let me know so we can look to include this on our website.
