The Chill May 10, 2008 11:46AM
Filming for Mary's Laughter moved from a spring setting to a winter setting to add the element of the cold to the story. I had a dear friend talk to me about how Stanley Kubrick was able to portray such horrifying imagery in The Shinning, one of my favorite films of all time. Turns out old Stanley was a master gamer himself. He locked his lead actress in the closet for hours to creep her out! And if you have seen The Shinning I know you feel the cold when Jack is racing around trying to hunt Winddeeeeeeeeee down! All the actors did a wonderful job even though they were freezing and I feel that we have birthed a new legend in the horror game. Prospects are lining up to get rights to the characters and two feature length scripts so I'm quite excited at the prospects of seeing an Amwell county built. I could not have done it without my crew who didn't have Siberia winter camouflage gear on but made it possible to shoot solid film in my opinion. Couldn't have done it without them thanks fellas! Special shout to Mrs Peggy Ann Ervin who helped me in more ways then she could know. There are many great people still in this world and she is one of them for sure!
