New Submissions!
Sep 28, 2006 01:52PM
Hello Fans!
Today's submissions are exciting indeed! Starting at home, where most of the movie was shot (albeit guerilla style), we've gone for the "Home Grown Short" category at the Garden State Film Festival. This one happens in Asbury Park, NJ - one of my favorite places in the world. So let's hope for a warm reception from the Jersey Kids. Other submissions inlcude the Cinequest Film Festival, where we've gone in under the "Emering Mavericks" category. We also went in for the
Boston Undergorund Film Festival, the capitol of the Northeast and home of my alma matter, Emerson College. And finally, our submission was made to
Aspen Shortfest. How's your Aspen?
And ... WE'RE OFF!!!
Sep 21, 2006 03:11PM
CROSS YOUR FINGERS, FOLKS! Festival submissions have begun for Coulrophobia! We're targeting small, weird, underground festivals and the first submissions are in. We started at home, where the film was shot in good ole' East Village, USA. Check out the EVIL CITY FILM FEST, the World Of Comedy Film Fest, and the Brainwash Movie Festival.

WHAT THE FUCK? (angry filmmaker)
Oct 16, 2006 09:26AM
I'm angry.
Because I made a point of seeing OTHER PEOPLE'S FILMS this weekend at the E.VIL City Film Fest. And I stayed even when I didn't like them. Because the whole point of these things is to see films and support each other.
I enjoyed the other films in the series that "Coulrophobia" played in. They were all "local" films and the place was packed when it started - which was very exciting, since most of the other venues were sparse. When the other filmmaker's friends took off before mine was played I wasn't surprised, but I was very disappointed.
What's another ten minutes?
If your short film plays in a series with a line-up of others, the dignified thing to do is to watch the others. The whole point is to network and encourage. To bring audiences to each other.
I brought you mine. My friends enjoyed my film and yours and I'm grateful for the handful of strangers who stayed.
I just wanted to take this opportunity to say WHAT THE FUCK?
Feel free - EVERYONE - to respond to this with comments!

Postering the East Village with our stellar poster by Nicolai Grossman (www.photondetector.com). Getting ready for the big day, trying to see as many of the E.VIL city films as possible. Very psyched for tomorrow!
Anyone with thoughts on Festival Strategy?
Sep 25, 2006 12:30PM
Before I found withoutabox.com, I was doing a lot of research into forming a film fest strategy. Read Chris Gore's Ultimate Film Festival Guide, in particular which was very helpful. Anyone with thoughts on strategies, I'd love to chat about it. Withoutabox is a wonderful tool!

Visuals were great, acting was strong. Nice comic book style. Agreed that it would make a nice feature.
