Dubbed by the filmmakers as an Echo Park Film Noir, ONWY was shot in and around Echo Park and includes numerous nods to the cinematic history of the area and its Hollywood connection.

“I love film noir,” says ONWY director/writer Joe D’Augustine. “I’m also a big fan of physical comedy – Keaton, Chaplin, Lloyd et.al. ONWY is an intersection of these two genres filmed in the mythic playground of L.A. It’s cast with some of the best character actors in the business and is accompanied by a soundtrack reminiscent of the great Italian film scores of the 60’s and 70’s featuring some of the original musicians from that golden era, thanks to composer Daniele Luppi.”

Director/Writer Joe D'Augustine and his wife and filmmaking partner Heather have lived in Echo Park for close to 14 years and are smitten with the area's history, beauty and diversity. They're thrilled that ONWY is screening in the neighborhood at the 2007 Silver Lake Film Festival.

ONWY composer Daniele Luppi will conduct the orchestra for Gnarl's Barkley's performance of "Crazy" at the Grammys this weekend. Daniel was the arranger on the original recording of the song. It's an amazing week for Luppi - he and his wife had a brand new baby son on Tuesday.
