Richard J. O'Brien was born in Camden, NJ a couple of days after Haile Selassie visited Jamaica for the first time and a few days before Anton LaVey formed the Church of Satan. Despite the comsic fallout of these two events from opposite ends of the spectrum, Mr. O'Brien led a normal childhood and went on to serve in the army. Afterward, he attended Rutgers University and graduated with a BA in English.

Mr. O'Brien has written five novels, two novellas, several short stories, and a dozen screenplays.

Currently, he is working on his 13th screenplay and hopes that this lucky number will ensure success... Mr. O'Brien works and lives in New Jersey.

This year has been a rough one. Now that the dust has settled, I hope to find representation and possibly sell a screenplay or two.

I need all the good karma I can get. In the past, I've placed in big-name screenplay contests (Chesterfield and Zoetrope). So, wish me luck because it's all about to start again...
